Khans Drop the Stone Act

In the 21st century, we may sometimes be under the impression that we're a little too ahead in the game of science and practicality to still follow superstition. However, many actors follow Dr. Dilip Kumar's "stone" policy, believing it to cure ailments ranging from mild insomnia to weight problem, bad luck, bad health and bad faces.

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan were one of these amulet-wearers. Perhaps due to Shah Rukh's recurring health problems as well as his involvement in controversies with co-stars, it has been reported that Gauri suggested they stop using theirs.

Others deny this report, attributing the lack of stones on the Khans to mere forgetfulness. A close friend reported, "SRK still wears the stones and so does Gauri, but sometimes they forget to wear it."

Dr. Dilip Kumar himself is clueless if there has been such a neglect, informing, "Once my job is finished, it's up to a person to continue wearing or not. Once the treatment is complete there is no need for changing the stones. The stones work for four years and one doesn't need to wear them all the time."

Even if the Khans have quit, hordes of our most popular persona still don these stone-studded amulets. Ajay Devgan and Kajol, Yash and Pamela Chopra, Hrithik Roshan, Hiroo Johar, and designer Ana Singh. Their faith in the power of these stones, thus far, seems unwavering.
