Not intimidated

ACTOR Aamir Khan (pic) has declared that he would not be cowed by threats and would continue to work in films.
His reaction came following reports of threats issued to Muslim actors by Indian Mujahideen, a militant outfit which claimed responsibility for July 26’s series of blasts in Ahmedabad in the western Indian state of Gujarat. The militant group has also claimed responsibility for the May bombings in Jaipur, the capital of north-western Rajasthan, that killed 63 people.
“It’s really sad that a few people are adamant in taking the lives of the innocent. I think we should not be cowed by these threats and attacks or let them affect us at all,” Aamir, 43, told reporters in Mumbai on Monday.
The militants reportedly told Bollywood’s Muslim stars to stop acting or their lives would be in danger. But an undaunted Aamir is determined to carry on.
Aamir and his Muslim brethren like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Saif Ali Khan are among Indian tinseltown’s most successful contemporary actors.
India has often accused militant groups from Pakistan and Bangladesh of helping local terrorists carry out a wave of bombings in recent years, with targets ranging from mosques to Hindu temples.
