Veteran filmmaker and owner of Minerva cinema, FC Mehra, passed away on July 29 at Bhatia Hospital, Mumbai. He was 85.
Mehra had a massive heart attack and was admitted to the hospital, where he breathed his last at 11.30 pm IST. His funeral was held in the morning on July 30.
Mehra produced more than 17 films like ShahRukh Khan’s Chamatkar and Ram Jaane, Akshay Kumar’s International Khiladi and Sabse Bada Khiladi, and classics like Professor, Prince, Sohni Mahiwal and Alibaba Aur 40 Chor under the banner Eagle Films. He leaves behind three sons, Rajesh, Umesh and Rajiv Mehra (who directed Chamatkar and Ram Jaane).The condolence meeting will be held on August 1, 2008 on Friday at Nehru Centre, Worli, Mumbai between 5–6 pm IST.
