PROCEDURE TO INSTALL WIN98

Here i am trying to explain the whole procedure to install WINDOW’S 98 on your PC.

FIRST of all things you require are:-

· A bootable WIN 98 CD.
· CD which contain drivers of WIN 98


The first step must be to format the disk in which you want to install windows. When you start your system then press so that you may go in the BIOS setup and their make your SYSTEM boot from CD-ROM and reset your computer after that you must insert the CD in CD-ROM.
Now you will se prompt
A:\
Now to move in C prompt write
A:\C:
Now you will get
C:\>
Now you can format the drive by writing format
C:\Format c:
(for quick format C:\Format C:/q )

now all content on this drive are erased. Now it is turn to make a directory in C drive with name as WIN 98, so

C:\>md(space)win98 and press enter key

Now check from DIR command that whether directory is built or not

C:\>dir and press enter

Now since you have to copy the file from CD-ROM to C drive so go at CD-ROM prompt whatever drive may assigned for the CD-ROM
Let us assume that the cd drive is E: so move to it

C:\>E:

E:\>dir
E:\>cd(space)WIN98
CD means change directory

E:\>WIN98>

E:\>WIN98>copy(space).(space)C:\win98

press enter key
OR
E:\>copy(space)E:\WIN98\*.*(space)C:\WIN98

OR
E:\>copy(space)E:\WIN98\*.*(space)C:\win98

E:\WIN98>CD
E:\>C:
C:>CD(space)WIN98
C:\WIN98>
C:\WIN98>SETUP

After completing these steps you have to follow the instructions on the screen and after 20 minutes your windows will be installed completely.
